AMERICAN ACTOR PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN IS DEAD
The ambitious and widely american actor died on sunday in greenwich village from drug overdose in a rented apartment.
Philip Hoffman was found in the appartment by a friend who was concerned about him, after trying to reach his cell phone.
The investigators found a syringe in his arm containing what appeared to be heroin, and was long known to be struggling with heroin habbit.
Mr Hoffman appeared in more than 50 film and was known for his distant role back in the early 90's.
He appeared in big-budget Hollywood films — including “Mission: Impossible III” (2006), “Moneyball” (2011) and “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” (2013) — and critically praised independent films, including “The Savages” (2007), in which he and Laura Linney, as his sister, struggle to care for their declining father; “Synecdoche, New York” (2008), Charlie Kaufman’s offbeat drama in which he played a moody theater director wrangling with his work and women; and “A Late Quartet,” about a violinist in the midst of dual crises, familial and musical.
