OBAMAS 2014 STATE OF THE UNION ANALYSIS
President Obama makes a pledge to expand the opportunities available to the citizens of America, with or without the support of congress. Logically this speech was structured and designated to all the people of America, as it is a commercial speech centered for all audience, from parliament to the old, middle and young group of individuals.
Before he began with his speech, he brilliantly appealed to the people by thanking everyone reputedly. By doing so he grabs everyone’s attention to create a bond between himself and that of his audience. Also, he engages his audience to make them feel a little bit important, while he stands out as a leader.
America today is a nation packed with diverse multicultural scheme, so really it’s challenging to rule America where multiculturalism do exist and well practiced.
The level of formality and information given was structured for every person who hails from the United States.
He uses facts and statistics so as to control his audience’s feelings, PATHOS. And try’s to avoid generalization in some certain areas. ETHOS, He also believes in opportunity for all, equality for all and democracy as he talked about rebuilding the nation.
Tonight this chamber speaks with one voice to the people we represent: It is you, our citizens, who make the state of our union strong”.
He mentioned his country’s progress on unemployment, oil production and investment to create more impact.

“And here are the results of your efforts: the lowest unemployment rate in over five years; a rebounding housing market -- a manufacturing sector that's adding jobs for the first time since the 1990s -- more oil produced -- more oil produced at home than we buy from the rest of the world, the first time that's happened in nearly twenty years -- our deficits cut by more than half; and for the first time in over a decade, business leaders around the world have declared that China is no longer the world's number one place to invest; America is”.
Obama is more of a family man, for me personally I think he intensely includes his family so as to support his political campaign.
At a point while given his speech, he mentioned his spouse not by her name but with the use of a third person pronoun, about how she tries to control child obesity and promoting good health, and further social amenities.
Finally he calls for an action persuading everyone to take part in rebuilding these trends, creating a better America for the future generation yet to be born.
